Hello, my name is Maya Sapone and I am the founder of Ensemble Fantômas.

Ensemble Fantômas are a London-based multi-disciplinary company dedicated to the production and performance of new opera. Ensemble Fantômas was created to promote and showcase original work by modern and living composers and to bring new opera to a wider audience. We draw on Contemporary Music that challenges the listener and takes the audience to new, unexplored places. Through strong visuals and a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to democratise opera, and to create an imaginative, resonant and innovative experience for the audience.

Besides staging operas we also take pride in inspiring the new generation of artists through our educational work. We believe in education through practice. Working in partnership with Universities, Performing Arts Academies and Festivals we offer voice, music and movement workshops where participants from any discipline and artistic background come together to explore and experience new ways of creating and bringing to life different stories through music and movement.
